چکیده

We show various (syntactic and behavioral) properties of random λ-terms. Our main results are that at least 3/4 of the terms are strongly normalizing and that any fixed closed term almost never appears in a random term. Surprisingly, in combinatory logic (the translation of the λ-calculus into combinators) the result is different. We show that almost all terms are not strongly normalizing, because any fixed term almost always appears in a random term.

4 M ar 2 00 9 The Existence of Maximal n - Orthogonal Subcategories ∗ †

For an (n− 1)-Auslander algebra Λ with global dimension n, we give some necessary conditions for Λ admitting a maximal (n − 1)-orthogonal subcategory in terms of the properties of simple Λ-modules with projective dimension n − 1 or n. For an almost hereditary algebra Λ with global dimension 2, we prove that Λ admits a maximal 1orthogonal subcategory if and only if for any non-projective indecom...

In this paper, we study the problem when a finitely generated torsionless module is projective. Let Λ be an Artinian local algebra with radical square zero. Then a finitely generated torsionless Λ-module M is projective if Ext Λ (M,M) = 0. For a commutative Artinian ring Λ, a finitely generated torsionless Λ-module M is projective if the following conditions are satisfied: (1) Ext Λ (M,Λ) = 0 f...

In this paper, we define a realizability semantics for the simply typed λµ-calculus. We show that if a term is typable, then it inhabits the interpretation of its type. This result serves to give characterizations of the computational behavior of some closed typed terms. We also prove a completeness result of our realizability semantics using a particular term model.

We consider the weighted Bergman spaces HL(B, μλ), where we set dμλ(z) = cλ(1−|z| 2) dτ (z), with τ being the hyperbolic volume measure. These spaces are nonzero if and only if λ > d. For 0 < λ ≤ d, spaces with the same formula for the reproducing kernel can be defined using a Sobolev-type norm. We define Toeplitz operators on these generalized Bergman spaces and investigate their properties. S...

We characterize, in terms of the Beurling-Malliavin density, the discrete spectra Λ ⊂ R for which a generator exists, that is a function φ ∈ L(R) such that its Λ-translates φ(x − λ), λ ∈ Λ, span L(R). It is shown that these spectra coincide with the uniqueness sets for certain analytic classes. We also present examples of discrete spectra Λ ⊂ R which do not admit a single generator while they a...
